A quieter corner of the internet

Made for a life beyond the screen

A little less feed.
A little more life.

Block the distractions. Keep the good parts.
North gives you a little space between the impulse to scroll and what you actually want to do.

No account. No tracking. Yours to keep.

else in mind.

This site is on your blocklist.
Take a breath. Your time is still yours.

01 / A more intentional internet

Keep the connection.
Lose the rabbit hole.

You came for a message, a tutorial, a quick look.
North helps it stay that way.

A reel from a friend? That one still plays.
Five minutes, without the next five hundred videos.

02 / The pause that makes it different

A little friction, by design

Between impulse
and intention,
a little room.

Turning a blocker off is usually the easy part.
North asks you to stay a moment. Then decide.

NOTHING TO DO BUTBreathe.A moment before moving on.

A wait you choose, from 10 seconds to 2 minutes.
Leave the page, and the timer starts again.

You set the boundary. North helps you keep it.Scroll to make a little space

01. Breathe. Stay on the page for a wait you choose, from 10 seconds to 2 minutes.

02. Reflect. Write at least 20 words about why you need the site. Your words stay in your browser.

03. Choose. Continue with intention, or go back to what you were doing. Short-form video cannot be unlocked.

03 / Room for your kind of day

Less coming at you.
More up to you.

A few thoughtful boundaries. All included.

01 — TIME

Give a site office hours.

Block it on a schedule, set a daily minute budget, or keep it blocked all day. Your rules, down to the site.

02 — FOCUS

Stay with one thing.

Start a 25, 50 or 90-minute focus session, or choose your own. Your blocklist stays put until it ends.

03 — SPACE

Clear the edges.

Hide YouTube recommendations and comments, quiet Twitch, and remove the noise around a news article.

04 — BOUNDARIES

Only what you need.

Lockdown mode keeps just your allowlist open until time is up. Keyword blocks work across sites. 18+ content stays blocked.

05 — REFLECTION

A record, for yourself.

Your unlock reasons, focused minutes and distractions stopped. There when you want to look back.

06 — PRIVACY

Your business stays yours.

Your settings, your journal, your browsing. All stored locally in your browser. No account. No extension analytics.

04 / No fine print

$0.

Not a trial. Not a tier. The price.

A little less noise.
One less subscription.

Every feature. For everyone. Forever.
North is supported by optional tips from people who find it useful. That’s the whole business model.

05 / A few things to know

Good questions.
Plain answers.

Something else on your mind?
Tell us about it

What does North actually block?
YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Facebook Reels, Snapchat Spotlight, and TikTok. You can also block entire sites, set schedules and daily limits, or block pages by keyword. Messages-only modes keep your inbox available on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and X.
What stops me from just turning it off?
To weaken a protection, you first wait on the page for a duration you choose, from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Leaving the page restarts the timer. Then you write at least 20 words about why you need access. Pasting and keyboard mashing don’t count. Shortening the wait takes the same challenge. You can still uninstall the extension; North is a boundary you choose for yourself.
Can I watch a reel a friend sends me?
Yes. A single item opened from a DM, another app or a pasted link plays for five minutes. Swiping to the next video is blocked. You get at most one new pass every ten minutes. Short-form feeds themselves have no unlock path.
Is it really free forever?
Yes. Every feature, for everyone. No trial, premium tier or feature caps arriving later. Optional tips support North. If you never leave one, nothing changes.
Where does my data go?
The extension stores your settings, journal and usage data locally in your browser. No account, no extension analytics, no server. Uninstalling the extension removes its local data.
Which browsers can I use?
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and other Chromium browsers, plus Firefox. Allow North in Incognito or private windows if you want your blocks to work there too.
What if I switch something on by mistake?
There’s a short free window to reverse a new protection, and 30 seconds to remove a site you just added. Each messages-only mode also has one free reversal. After that, weakening a protection takes the wait and writing challenge.
How is lockdown different from a focus session?
A focus session blocks the sites on your list until the session ends. Lockdown goes further: only the sites on your allowlist can load. Neither has an unlock path while it’s running. Choose the duration before you begin.
